Nasdaq futures fell more than 1 percent on Friday, as disappointing forecasts from chip companies Nvidia and Applied Materials battered the technology sector and fueled further worries about a chip boom that maybe grinding to a halt.

At 9:04 a.m. ET, Dow e-minis were down 0.39 percent at 25,207. S&P 500 e-minis were down 0.45 percent at 2,722.25, while Nasdaq 100 e-minis were down 0.95 percent at 6,849.5.
