Top Tech Stocks
Technology stocks closed mixed Thursday, with shares of tech companies in the S&P 500 rising 0.2% as a group, while the Philadelphia Semiconductor Index fell 0.4%.
In company news, shares of fleet and asset management services provider MiX Telematics ( MIXT ) fell nearly 4%. The company said that it has been selected by a large dairy company in Brazil to help address its safety, security, efficiency and compliance needs. The Brazilian firm produces more than seven million liters of milk daily in multiple states across the country, according to a statement. MiX is helping its client ensure that more than 450 vehicles in its fleet are equipped with a "world-class" telematics system. The client company's portfolio of more than 100 products and manufacturing plants spread across Brazil requires its transport and distribution network to operate seamlessly, said Luiz Munhoz, managing director, MiX Telematics Brazil.

(+) MER Telemanagement Solutions ( MTSL ) rose about 5% after it said it has regained compliance with the minimum $2.5 million stockholders' equity requirement for continued listing on Nasdaq
(-) Comtech Telecommunications ( CMTL ) fell fractionally. The company said it received a total of $1.2 million in orders to provide the city of Baltimore with advanced communication services.
