American depositary receipts of Asian stocks were trading 0.72% higher at 164.11 on the Bank of New York Mellon Asia ADR Index on Friday.
In North Asia, the gainers were led by video-sharing service iQIYI ( IQ ) and real estate portal Fang Holdings ( SFUN ), which climbed 10.2% and 6.9% respectively. They were followed by solar equipment provider JinkoSolar ( JKS ) and used car ecommerce platform Uxin ( UXIN ), which rose 5.7% and 5.5%.
The decliners in North Asia were led by online sports lottery service provider 500.com ( WBAI ) and branding and marketing company Acorn (ATV), which fell 5.7% and 3.1%. They were followed by display advertising company Airmedia (AMCN) and internet service provider Internet Initiative Japan (IIJI), which dropped 2.9% and 0.4%.
In South Asia, the gainers were led by mining company Vedanta (VEDL) and automaker Tata Motors (TTM), which rose 4% and 3.7% respectively. They were followed by pharmaceutical company Dr. Reddy's Laboratories (RDY) and biotech firm ASLAN (ASLN), which were up 2.2% and 1.6%.
HDFC Bank (HDB) was the lone decliner in South Asia, falling 0.4%.
