Lufthansa Splits Order for About 50 Jets Between Airbus, Boeing -Bloomberg
Deutsche Lufthansa AG (LHA.XE) will split an order for about 50 widebody jets with a list value of at least $14 billion between Boeing Co. (BA) and Airbus, Bloomberg News reported Friday, citing people with knowledge of the matter.
The exact split wasn't reported, but Boeing will receive a majority of the carrier's order, one person told Bloomberg. An announcement could come as soon as next week.
A Lufthansa spokesman said no fleet decision has been made by the company's supervisory board, while spokesmen for Airbus and Boeing declined comment, Bloomberg reported.
