American depository receipts of Asian stocks were trading 0.14% higher at 169.25 on the Bank of New York Mellon Asia ADR Index on Friday.
In North Asia, the gainers were led by commercial wheel manufacturer China Zenix Auto International ( ZX), and oil company Sinopec Shanghai Petrochemical ( SHI ), which rose 2.9% and 2.4% respectively. They were followed by fables semiconductor company Himax Technologies ( HIMX ), up 2.3%, and airline operator China Southern Airlines ( ZNH ), up 2.2%.
The decliners in North Asia were led by solar equipment provider JinkoSolar ( JKS ), and O2Micro International ( OIIM ), a maker of power management components for computers, which fell 2.8% and 2.5% respectively. They were followed by online game publisher Gravity (GRVY), down 1.7%, and online retailer LightInTheBox (LITB), off 1.4%.
In South Asia, the only gainers were IT firm SIFY Technologies (SIFY), which rose 1.1%, and telecommunications company Telekomunikasi Indonesia (TLK), which moved 0.4% higher.
Pharmaceutical company Dr. Reddy's Laboratories (RDY) led the decliners in South Asia, falling 2.8%, followed by automaker Tata Motors (TTM), and telecommunications provider PLDT (PHI), which lost 0.5% each. Meanwhile, direct-to-home video provider Videocon d2h (VDTH) was down 0.2%.
